Seachem, a company rooted in sound science, has been in the pet care industry for over three decades. The company is owned and operated by hobbyists, with all employees maintaining aquariums at home and in the office. Seachem's philosophy is that the knowledgeable hobbyist makes the best customer, and this is reflected in their solid and reliable customer education and support, as well as their products, which are proven in science and performance.
Despite Seachem's rapid growth into a national and international firm, the company has retained the culture of a small business and remains readily available to its customers. One of Seachem's products, Pond PhosGuard, is designed to rapidly remove phosphate and silicate from pond water.
Pond PhosGuard is the only spherical remover on the market, and its highly porous and spherical shape allows for maximum water flow through the media. The product's ability to exhibit strong binding capabilities ensures that phosphates and silicates are not released back into the pond, consequently reducing them to very low levels.
Seachem's Pond PhosGuard is a result of the company's approach to solving old problems in new ways. The founder, Dr. Leo G. Morin, recognized that the available solutions to aquarists' problems were wanting, and this led to the creation of Seachem's very first product, Cupraplex (now known as Cupramine).
Over the years, Seachem has remained one of the few surviving independent and privately owned pet care companies. The company's commitment to providing quality products and superior customer support has been a key factor in its success.
In conclusion, Seachem's Pond PhosGuard is a highly effective solution for removing phosphate and silicate from pond water. The product's unique design and strong binding capabilities make it a reliable choice for aquarists and pond enthusiasts. Seachem's dedication to sound science, customer education, and performance-proven products has earned the company a reputation as a trusted name in the industry.

directions | Use Pond PhosGuard™ in the chemical module of your pond filter. If a chemical module is lacking, place in your pond filter so as to maximize the amount of water passing through it. The beads are sufficiently large that a filter bag should not be required for most filters. Check the specifications for your filter. Each liter (approximately a quart) of Pond PhosGuard™ will treat about 100 to 300 gallons for 1 to 3 months, depending on the biological load of the pond. It works better at alkaline or neutral pH. Avoid using phosphate based buffers or fertilizers that contain phosphate or nitrate. Caution: May generate heat on initial contact with water. Pre-wet by slowly adding to a double volume of water (e.g. pre-wet 1 L of product with 2 L of water) | ||||
